PC-2ConcreteAir-entrainingAgent

PC-2 concrete air-entraining agent ( the common type is solid at normal temperature), consisting of rosin etc., is a kind of rosin thermopolymer when polycondensed at proper temperature. PC-2 concrete air-entraining agent can produce tiny and independent bubbles in the process of concrete mixing so it can effectively improve the workability of the concrete mixture( including its pump ability) and this is beneficial to construction and can enhance the pouring quality of the concrete. Furthermore, because of the tiny and independent bubbles, the water pathways are blocked and the micro-structure of the concrete is thus better off, which contributes to improving the concrete’s durability (including its frost-resistance, anti-permeability and corrosion resistance etc.).

II Applicable scope
1. Widely applied in the concrete and steel reinforced concrete works, especially in the frost-resistance concrete and the waterproof concrete construction.
2. Applied to those concrete requiring high-qualified workability of concrete mixture.

III Usage
1. Mixing amount:
 The mixing amount of PC-2 air-entraining agent is determined by controlling the air content in the concrete mixture. It is recommended that the concrete air content ranges from 3.0% to 7.0%, which should conform to relative standards and construction code. As for the mixing amount, when using the LF vibrators in construction, the common mixing amount should be 0.005% to 0.015% of the amount of cement; when the HF vibrators are applied, the percentage should be 0.007% to 0.018%. Generally speaking, the specific mixing amount is subject to the site air content.

2. Solution preparation
PC-2 air-entraining agent needs to be compounded into solution and the mixture ratio (weight ratio) is: 
air-entraining agent (in solid state) : sodium hydroxide: drinking water = 1:0.2:30.
First, dissolve sodium hydroxide into the hot water (the temperature ought to be above 80℃ )making up 70% to 80% of the whole solution(100% is better). Second, put the crushed air-entraining agent into the sodium hydroxide solution, then stir it till the solid air-entraining agent dissolves completely. Next, add the remaining water (can be at normal temperature)into the solution and mix thoroughly. Then the air-entraining agent solution at 3.2% concentration can be used after it cools off.
The purer drinking water shall be used when preparing the air-entraining agent solution. If there are many foreign matters in the water, precipitation probably appears in the solution. However, this has little influence on the air-entraining effect. 

3. Calculation of solution dosage
the dosage of the air-entraining agent solution at 3.2% concentration = the amount of cement × the mixing amount of the air-entraining agent(in solid state) × 31.2

4. It is better to add the air-entraining agent solution into the blending water first and to prolong the time to mix concrete by 30 to 60 seconds, so that the solution will disperse more easily.

5. PC-2 air-entraining agent can be used together with other concrete water reducing agent, retarder or early strength agent etc..

6. When the Calcium chloride needs to be put into the concrete mixture besides PC-2 air-entraining agent, PC-2 air-entraining agent solution should be added into the mixture first. After being stirred properly, Calcium chloride solution can be put into.

7. PC-2 air-entraining agent solution is not suitable for being contained in the metal containers such as iron containers for a long time.

IV Package and storage
1. This product is wrapped in paper barrel or box containers.
 2. This produce is nonhygroscopic and can be stored for a long time without going bad.
